gnome-sound-recorder software package provides simple and modern sound recorder for GNOME, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-sound-recorder
gnome-sound-recorder is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-sound-recorder package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-sound-recorder *
You will get with gnome-sound-recorder package name, version, architecture and description in a table
